Lance Sheppard

Lance brings a vast array of knowledge and experience to the LJ Thoroughbreds team. As a young man, Lance was surrounded by racing and horses. After schooling, Lance spent time in the Northern Territory as a stockman which included working and breaking young horses and extensive cattle work.
After his time in the NT, Lance refocused himself on his passion, the horse industry. After doing 12 months as a Cadet Steward, an opportunity with the Australian jockey club then arose as assistant starter, been based at Randwick lance got to work with city trainers an horses this provided Lance with a huge amount of experience and knowledge, associating and watching top class mature and succeed in Sydney Racing. Lance was then provided the opportunity to complete his farrier apprenticeship. During his apprenticeship lance started breaking and training horses in both the thoroughbred and polo/stockhorse industries. By the time he finished his apprenticeship, lance had also grown a full-time horse education business. This experience gained over the past 30 years assures your horse is handled professionally and carefully to ensure the best results are gained. Qualifications and Experience:
